Hydrogen

Hydrogen is the simplest molecule in the world. Yet the functions of it are far more complex and wide-reaching. Working on hydrogen related works since 2018, we have developed a robust information base for the in-depth application of hydrogen in the South African and African markets. Our works span the entire hydrogen value chain from feedstock, to energy, to H2 production, H2 transportation and H2 Storage.

Our production, transportation, and storage technologies span most of the hydrogen colour spectrum.

Brown & Grey Hydrogen

We produce this kind of hydrogen with GHG emissions as risk. Our technology is well understood and minimizes risk to produce hydrogen from :

• Waste carbonaceous material
• Biomass
• Crop residue
• Coal an waste coal

Green Hydrogen

This is hydrogen produced without GHG emissions. Largely driven by the sustainability of the production processes, we use clean electricity from :

• Wind
• Solar PV
• Concentrated solar power (CSP)

Yellow Hydrogen

Our masterpiece. This is the hydrogen we produce directly from Solar PV. Our lowest cost option for applications across industry using :

• Solar PV
• Water

Pink Hydrogen

Pink hydrogen is produced through electrolysis powered by clean power energy, we can use clean electricity from :

• Nuclear
• Water

How we work

  • At this phase, we arrange a meeting(s) to learn the problem. With adequate distillation, we get to understand the problem and the proposed course of action. We also weigh in on the potential alternatives to the suggested solutions.

  • At this phase, we get the ball rolling. Communicating, when necessary, we develop the enabling environment for the project to take place. We actively distil goals, objectives, scope, deliverables, and constraints and conduct feasibility work etc. with you tying all this into one concise project initiation package.

  • At this phase, we are now guided by the project initiation package and setting in motion all relevant plans required to deliver the project. We develop and manage all dependencies, allocate the relevant resources, develop the estimate schedules and develop risk mitigation strategies. We package all this into a thorough project plan.

  • At this phase, armed with a detailed initiation package and thorough plans, we work with you and prepare for the mobilization of resources to implement the project. Manage risks and implement risk strategies as per the risk management plans. And check, one-more-time, that we are clear on understanding and the desired outcomes.

  • At this stage, we are guided by the approved project plans and tap into the available resources to convert the plans into action. This outcome-oriented action is monitored, risks managed, resources levelled, progress tracked, personnel monitored, and scheduled are managed without compromising quality. We open room for change and manage the change. We actively report at set times, so you are aware of the project trajectory at any point.

  • During the project, we evaluate, monitor and close all gates as per completion. But, at this phase, the project has been evaluated, the lessons learned captured, monitored for objective delivery and optimal performance, and has delivered or is delivering the perceived benefit and is thus meant to be closed. We develop and implement the necessary close out strategies and consider the project done.

  • Depending on the project, at this phase we hand over the final output from the implementation phase to the operations team. Not only handover, but also create an enabling environment for the operations team to be equipped with the necessary skills to handle the project output for the delivery of the desired benefits. On other projects, we seamlessly move from implementation to operation as an O & M partner.
